Fort Wayne Roofing Tear Off & Installation
Our Method vs Typical Roof-over
Our Method
Tear-off
The only right way to do a roofing job is to tear off the old roof and put on a new one. After we do that, we repair any damage that caused the problem in the first place, then lay down all the appropriate underlayment and protection. This method ensures you have new warranties and the peace of mind knowing that your new product will last a long time.
We believe that every job is worth doing to the best of our abilities. That means, if you're getting your roof replaced, we're going to take things to the very beginning and give you a new start. If you're doing a full refresh on your home, we'll handle the aesthetic, the stability, and even the gutter guards if you want. Whatever the scope of your request, we can handle it, and we'll often have the problem corrected in a matter of weeks.
- Repair: Removes old roofing, addresses damages
- Reinforce: Repair / install ridge vent, use the highest quality synthetic underlayment, apply double protection in valleys, etc.
- Ensure: Lasts longer, fully warranted
- Expedite: Often installed within 2 weeks of ordering
- Save: Boosts home value and lowers insurance costs
Their Method
Roof-over
Some companies choose to add a metaphorical coat of paint over problems that, if left alone, will cause severe damage to your home. This is called a roof over. It leaves damage and ignores the real problems. It puts more weight on an already struggling surface, which means that your roof is taxed even more than it would have been before. Additionally, this method will often void any product warranties you got when you purchased the roofing materials, and this will reduce your home value.
Choosing a do-over doesn't mean choosing a roof-over. This method may look nice at the start, but it leaves all kinds of problems. It covers up water damage, makes your old vinyl siding not look quite as desperate for an update, and adds a bit of sparkle, but it never lasts.
- Leaves damaged roofing, ignores underlying issues
- Puts additional weight on the structure
- Roof integrity deteriorates faster
- Often voids product warranties
- Reduces home value
